What it's about
Can hippos be small? Of course! In the book "Als Mumbo Jumbo riesig wurde" (When Mumbo Jumbo Became Huge) by Danish author Jakob Martin Strid, Mumbo is a little hippo who wants nothing more than to finally be big.
When Mumbo tastes a mushroom in the forest, he suddenly grows to gigantic size. At first he thinks his biggest wish is coming true, but Mumbo no longer fits into his home, can't hug his mother anymore and causes a whole lot of damage.
The story tells in a kid-friendly way that size isn't everything and that it's okay to feel comfortable in your own skin. The film is showing at Abaton Kino and is an option for families with younger children.
And tomorrow? It's in the app.
The weekend and the holidays, too. Two weeks free.
