The Secret Floor

Karli is twelve when his parents buy a huge grand hotel in the Alps that has long stood empty, in order to reopen it. Alone, he wanders through the empty corridors and rooms, and he is especially taken with the old freight elevator.

One day the elevator drops him off on a floor where there are people. Where do they come from? Why are they dressed so strangely? Karli realizes: he has stepped out in the summer of 1938. The film is billed as perhaps the first time-travel children's film and combines suspense with a look into history.

It is shown at the Abaton cinema. Because of its historical themes it is better suited to older children, with whom you can talk about what you have seen afterward.
