What it's about
The world's smallest shanty choir sails through wind and storm aboard its gaff-rigged dinghy, cruising across stages, piers, and promenades: on board are La Capitana, the nimble sailor Pit, and the plump ship's rat Freddy. The little boat itself is packed with musical ideas – the rigging becomes marimbaphones, the forestay turns into a bass, plus there's ukulele, banjo, glockenspiel, flutes, harmonica, trumpet, and an accordion.
Songs are sung in German, English, and Low German. Admission is 5 euros for everyone, no reservations possible – just drop by.
KulturKlinker Barmbek is easily reached by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, and several bus lines.
