St. Martin's Parade

Follow the rider through town! On 6 November, the traditional St. Martin's parade begins with a service at St. Wilhadi church, where the confirmation candidates put on a little St. Martin play. At 5:30 pm the lantern parade sets off, led by a rider on horseback with musical accompaniment.

Together the parade winds through the picturesque old town toward the Bürgerpark, where the scouts light the fire. There, punch, bratwurst and sweet bread rolls await. All children and adults are invited to come along with colorful lanterns – please no torches, for safety reasons.

The meeting point and start is St. Wilhadi church in Stade.
