What it's about

Eleven-year-olds Billie and Dino have only just met. Billie's parents worked at ESA, and her mother was even an astronaut. Dino is a tinkerer and has collected all sorts of electronic instruments in an old bus on his parents' scrapyard. Together they build a radio telescope to pick up signals from aliens. And sure enough, suddenly there's a noise! Billie and Dino are over the moon.

The film combines friendship, a love of tinkering and fascination with outer space. It's great for kids who like to craft, explore and wonder whether we're alone in the universe, and makes a movie outing for the whole family.

The Abaton is an arthouse cinema at Allende-Platz that shows children's films alongside arthouse features.
